
Most recently I have been working as a self-employed bricklayers labourer on a number of residential sites and private builds. Opening and closing of the site on a daily basis, my duties include checking machinery and vehicles for any defects before use during the day. Preparing mortar and driving the telescopic forklift to load building products to the designated area of work. Keeping the site tidy and free from any hazards. Keeping well ahead of the bricklayers, ensuring they always had plenty of materials to work with. Cleaning of tools after the days work and locking up of any machinery and site containers.
I was employed on the main assembly line, assembling overhead guards using overhead cranes on a daily basis. This entailed using relevant hand and power tools, adhering to safe working practices as part of a team, following strict schedules and filling in paper work.
Working on a series of different sites from housing developments to large shopping centres. I have laboured to plasterers, scaffolders and joiners. I was responsible for preparing materials for between 1 and 6 men. I have held CSR cards indicating health and safety awareness and have knowledge of and am able to use hand and power tools and telescopic forklifts.
I spent 3 years in America working in a busy Irish bar in Florida, initially as bar staff progressing to managing and organising functions, through which I showed a positive attitude with management and co-workers, good customer skills and the ability to work under pressure.
I began working in the Ceili house bar as a bar man and within a short period was responsible for opening and locking up the premises, ordering and controlling stock and managing invoices.
I worked a 3 shift pattern within a busy and efficient team on a production line assembling electronic circuit boards. Advantageous skills for this job were the ability to read and interpret drawings to ensure proper assembly and functionality of assemblies and performing skilled fitting of parts, sub assembilies and related mechanical units.
