Accomplishments

Bronze Safety Award for outstanding contribution to safety.

"James was removing hydraulic pipes from the rear fuselage fuel cell on a Typhoon when he noticed fretting on the pipe walls. Although the aircraft was being retired from service, James escalated the issue, in case it affected other aircraft in the fleet with a similar number of flying hours.

James showed tremendous diligence in spotting this problem, especially as there was no requirement to inspect and items that were removed. He is a worthy winner of this award"

This observation triggered a fleet wide check and replacement of the offending pipe to avoid a possible hydraulic leak in a fuel cell.
