My name is James and I am 17 years old. I am in S6 at Trinity Academy, Edinburgh and I am looking for my first opportunity in paid employment. I have experience as a volunteer, working with Ukrainian children and with my school charities committee. I am hardworking and conscientious, and I work well both in a team and individually. Additionally, I am often described as friendly and approachable, and I would be happy to answer any questions that a customer may have.
As a volunteer worker, I led activities for Ukranian pupils in local primary schools at Active Schools Fun Fridays. I set up and ran sporting activities such as basketball games to ensure that the children could have positive, safe experiences and that they had the opportunity to develop their sporting abilities.
I served as a charity committee member for my school, and sold candy canes with personalised messages in order to raise money, This involved advertising, spreading the word, creating an attractive stand and persuading other school pupils to purchase. Over a period of 3 weeks, we managed to raise over £400 for the maternal health charity FIVEXMORE.
Music - I am passionate about all types of music and I play both piano and acoustic guitar at Grade 4 level and have performed in school concerts. I am currently working towards Grade 5 piano.
Psychology - I also have a keen interest in psychology, and I have recently completed the mental health award at level 5 because I wanted to explore the subject in further detail. I am planning to study Psychology at University from September 2024.
