I have recently completed the Bar (BVS) at City, University of London with a specialism in criminal advocacy, My experience includes working directly with offenders at Brixton Prison, where I delivered rehabilitation workshops and gained valuable insight into the criminal justice system from the perspective of those it affects most. I have also undertaken extensive pro bono work supporting clients in criminal matters, developing strong advocacy, case preparation, and legal research skills.
In addition, I worked at Solace Women’s Aid as part of the SASS team (Sexual and Domestic Violence Service), supporting Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs). This involved advising clients on police reporting, criminal proceedings, and protective measures, as well as providing emotional support and guidance on housing and financial issues.
I am now seeking to build on these experiences in a criminal paralegal role, where I can contribute to case preparation, client support, and defence strategy while further developing my legal career in criminal defence.

Whilst working at the East London Family Court, I have developed a solid foundation in legal research, document preparation, and case management. This service allowed me to experience first-hand the intricacies and nuances of divorce, housing, family succession and child arrangement orders, and how they impacted the lives of those we advised.
I engage closely with complex issues like divorce, family succession, and child arrangement orders. I have gained a deep understanding of their profound impact on people's lives. Each family's unique situation highlighted the importance of a legal framework underpinned by 'common sense' principles. A particularly impactful experience at BLAC was advising a woman on an international divorce, offering me valuable insights into cross-border legal process.
My involvement in 'Street Law' at The Camden Recovery Centre, where I presented to mothers in recovery and their children, honed my public speaking skills and my ability to adapt to a sensitive audience. Of course, trying to engage a sensitive audience on topics they may never have heard of before is quite the challenge! However, they were invaluable experiences in developing my communication and listening skills as I had to adapt my presentation to the questions and feedback from the audience in real time.
I currently work as a part time negotiator for a local property business. I have shown initiative and determination to achieve a goal to a high standard. For example, the business was in the process of purchasing a farm. However, the seller did not want to remove the overage clause on the land. Through emails, telephone consultations and in person meetings, I successfully negotiated the removal of the overage clause from the land.
Through an outreach role at Brixton Prison, I have delivered workshops to prison inmates. The presentations aimed to rehabilitate offenders once they are released back into society and to reduce re-offending. We focused on six main areas: accommodation and finance, thinking and behaviour, children and family life, drugs and alcohol, education and employment, and health care. As a result of the presentations, all prisoners signed up to our ‘active rehabilitation program.’
I was fortunate to win a place on the esteemed Lincoln’s Inn European placement to the Hague which included subsidised visits to the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice.
Outside of academia, my interests could be fairly divided across hot yoga, pottery and salsa dancing. I am a certified Yogi and look forward to a retreat in Summer 2024 in Athens. I also have a Diploma in Art and Design with a specialism in pottery, and even with the demands of my course still aim to ‘wheel throw’ at least once a week. Finally, I dance Salsa professionally three times a week and I am even booked for a ‘salsa week’ holiday with my mum who is a Salsa teacher.

Current projects
Bar Reform Council- Researched and contributed to a Bar Reform Council publication focusing on domestic abuse and new legislation for women. This work involved collaborating with Solace Women’s Aid and included specialised training in the area. My research aimed to address critical issues and propose reforms to enhance legal protections for women affected by domestic abuse.
Membership and Legal Advice Competition- I am active member of the Young Association of Lawyers for Children.I am also participating in the Legal Advice Competition 2024, which includes an essay exploring how courts determine the recognition of a legal father in fertility treatment cases. The essay emphasises that the child's welfare is the court’s paramount consideration in such applications.
