Jacob Evans

• After I left school I started off working with Evans plumbing and heating, helping with tasks which included taking out and installing new boilers, heating systems and also installing new bathroom suites.
• Carried out comprehensive risk assessments before beginning any work, ensured safety at all times.
• Keep the workplace clean and ensure tradesmen have all the necessary tools and materials to keep the project within time schedule.
• I was working with this business from when I left school until it closed in September 2023.

• I was located in Levengrove park and also attended college once each week for the duration of the apprentiship.
• my tasks were such as:
• Applying chemical and non chemical treatments to paths and flower beds to minimise the growth of weeds and unwanted plant material.
• Planting Hedges, trees, plants and seasonal bedding also maintain these to the highest standard possible.
• Keep grass and play parks clean and tidy for public use.
• Assisted in landscape design projects to create attractive green spaces.

As part of the Apprentiship I also completed these Qualifications/courses.

• Level 2 & Level 3 Modern Apprentiship in Horticulture- Parks, Gardens and greenspace at SCQF level 6.
• Pesticide spraying PA1 & PA6
• Health and safety at work.
• Food hygiene.
• CPR and first aid training.
• Fire safety at work.
