A full-time student studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Ulster University searching for a placement. A hardworking student that works well in a team when it comes to creating innovative ideas for designing an electrical circuit. With good creativity, problem solving and team-working skills which I believe are indispensable in an engineering workplace as well as wanting to further develop my communication skill in a workplace to be able to complete complex challenges more efficiently.
Engineering =
- Gained good amount of knowledge and experience within Circuit Analysis in both theory and practice
- Able to build circuits in a safe and working manner as well as showed good perseverance during troubleshooting, especially when circuits get complex and issues that are difficult to identify - - Displayed in good detail within my lab reports as it shows how I constructed my circuits, how the circuit functions, what difficulties have I come across and how do I overcome them
- Was able to self-learn on how to utilize a soldering iron efficiently at home in my free time as soldering is an important factor in electrical engineering, with that obtained skill I was then able to solder my own components onto a prototype board with no issues
Problem Solving =
- Demonstrated this during a group project for one of my modules in 1st year of university where I used C programming to code a fuel calculator, problem solving was involved as I had to overcome the number of errors that was outputting every time before eventually functioning correctly
- Had to construct a circuit for one of my parent’s ideas to the way they wanted it so I had to think from scratch about what components used to build so it will be able operate reliably, this is also the case for when I am trying to build my own homemade circuits
Teamwork =
- A couple of our modules had put me into groups with other students to complete tasks, especially during lab sessions We would help each other to complete the set tasks effectively
- Our group project for programming in 1st Year also involved teamwork during in campus and online so we would be able to discuss our ideas for coding out project
- During my Late 2019 work experience working as a food preparer in a takeaway me and the workers had to work together to get the food prepped and ready to give the customer as fast and as efficiently possible, this applies to my online work experience as a short group project was assigned to each group to complete by a certain time so teamwork was essential that we can get the best results in the shortest time
Creativity =
- Modified my parent’s home heating system which uses a mechanical thermometer to an electrical thermometer to minimize random thermal cut out issues with the mechanical one, it required to construct a new wiring diagram so it can function accurately and safely without causing issues, as well as taking cable management into consideration to make it appear professional similarly to when I was designing my own automatic laptop charger
- Created my short group project during my online work experience with other students that required creativity, so it makes it appealing compared to others Our project was about creating the best caravan design with ideas/images founded on the internet
Communication =
- Within a few of my modules, I am required to communicate with other students of topics in that module that the professors would like us to have a short discussion in
- In both of my work experiences I have demonstrated communication towards other workers in the food prepping area so foods can be sorted into each order as fast as possible without any mistakes
Hobbies: Enjoy building my own electrical circuits on breadboards to understand its functionality before soldering them onto a prototype board as its final stage of the design. Help my parents construct the electrical side of their builds for example, wiring up cables to somewhere in the house (with safety precautions carried out before touching exposed wires) and build a circuit that’s been drawn out from my parent’s idea of how they want it to function. Enjoy playing sports such as badminton, cycling, swimming as well as home gym to keep myself in shape.
