- My work at southern auto centre consists of being dropped of to a auction house by another colleague usually in Bristol, Blackwater or Blackbushe where I will collect a vehicle to be brought back to the showroom. Once upon arrival I make sure the car is up to date so that means checking if there is any fault with the vehicle. Then I will valet the car myself and take pictures ready for sale.

- Work started early hours in the morning, first task was to load the tipper truck with fresh tarmac from the compound, then we would be assigned a location to dig a trench, after we have dug out a trench suitable a fibre optics team would do there work, then we would finish of by covering the fibre optics with the dug out material also with some sand or hardcore rubble then finally laying a few layers of tarmac.
- My partner and I would use power tools such as a wacker plate, trench plate, petrol concrete saw and mechanical diesel roller. Also using many hand tools such as a pickaxe, shovel and lump hammer.
- My main duties where to scoop hot tarmac of the truck into a wheelbarrow and keep the area completely tidy while working and insure the street was how it was upon arrival.
- Very physically demanding work but was a great experience
- This work was located out of my home town.
- All tools and equipment would be cleaned and stored ready for the next day.
