Summary

I’m a motivated and reliable school leaver with a genuine interest in electrical engineering and how the power network keeps communities connected. I am currently studying a BTEC L3 in engineering at NWRC in Londonderry. I enjoy hands-on work, learning practical skills, and solving problems calmly and logically. I’m applying for the NIE Networks apprenticeship because I want to earn while I learn on an IET-accredited programme, gain recognised qualifications. It is my goal build a long-term career in the electricity industry.

I understand this is a safety-critical environment, so I take responsibility seriously. I understand the importance of following instructions and procedures, and I pay close attention to detail. I’m customer-focused and professional, and I’m comfortable adapting to different tasks, locations and conditions to get the job done properly. I’m keen to learn from experienced colleagues, take feedback well, and bring consistent effort, integrity and teamwork to become a skilled and dependable craftsperson.

Throughout my time at Lisneal College, I have gained a range of skills that I am eager to bring to an apprenticeship

Accomplishments

    During my time at Lisneal College, I have maintained an excellent attendance record. I was selected as group leader for a BTEC Engineering project, a role that allowed me to build leadership skills and motivate others. Teachers have often commented on my positive attitude and determination, particularly in practical subjects where effort and focus are needed.
