A highly motivated graduate rolling stock engineer with a pure passion for the rail industry of the United Kingdom. 18 months experience in the mainline rail industry, with ten years’ experience in the heritage sector both in operations and engineering. Calm, organized, punctual, flexible, and able to deliver results in an environment of constant, continuous improvement, with important deadlines to meet. Working as part of the DEM team at St Philips Marsh I am involved with a variety of both fleet and depot related projects. The DEM team supports the depot with the delivery of a reliable train service, where safety and compliance are paramount to keep customers safe on their journeys. As a management graduate I have had exposure and experience with the following:
· Hands on shop floor experience: working on legacy DMU fleets, I have also completed competency training for 15x and 16x fleets, with some experience working with HST sets.
· Production Management experience: Have spent time shadowing production managers and acted as the PM when required on strike days/nights. This involves both the coordination of people and work in liaison with the operations department to ensure service requirements are met, and to communicate effectively with other parts of the business.
· Main works experience on a placement working on a class 15x internal refresh, also DMU bogie overhauls with external companies.
· Experience of joint technical investigations with warranty claims against manufacturers for train components. Assist in reviewing VMI procedures and adapting them to meet changing requirements.
· Member of the Railway Engineering Graduate Scheme (REGS) and attend several compulsory courses ranging from general rolling stock awareness, CSM-RA and Rolling Stock software integration.
· Appointed as GWR's 'Lead Engineering Well-being Champion' prioritizing good mental health in the engineering side of the business.
· Post failure fault finding experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
· Design placement experience with an external design and approvals company. Good knowledge of railway standards for rolling stock.
· In this role and from university I have become competent in the use of technical IT systems and interfaces between hardware and software.
· Member of the DOIG (depot operations improvement group).
· H&S committee member.
· Commercial experience with regards to budgets, procurement, bidding, and tendering.

I was responsible for answering the first enquiry a new volunteer makes, organizing inductions both departmental and safety (and carrying out some of them). I also introduced people to team leaders and assisted them with any issues that may arise. Using interpersonal skills both online and face to face all the time with this role.
