Over three years experience on Robins Paediatric Specialist Surgery Ward covering specialties under neurosurgery, neurology, ear, nose and throat, craniofacial, cleft and plastics, and regular outlier patients including gastrointestinal, trauma or respiratory. The age of patients are usually newborn to 12 years old however children up to the age of 17 are regularly admitted.
Experience in specialist patients and surgeries including tumour debulks, shunt insertions, External Ventricular Drains, Foramen Magnum Decompression, Chiari Malformation I and II, seizure management, complex neuro rehabilitation, Total Calvarial Remodelling, Fronto-orbital Advancement Remodelling, cleft lip and palate repair, tonsillectomy, tympanoplasty, laceration, AIRVO and oxygen management, and palliation.
Particular interest in newly corrected spina bifida children as the multidisciplinary team focuses on their needs. Teams such as nursing, neurosurgery, plastics and urology have input into their wound management, and often the family requires family-centred care.

I have worked on Bellhouse-Drayson Ward during peak respiratory period including management of asthma, nebulisers and oxygen, and maintaining barrier nursing according to the illness
In addition I have experience on the adolescent ward, Melanies, where I cared for mental health needs, complex pain, trauma, spinal surgery and muscle flaps.
