I am currently working as Deputy Sister on Acute Cardiac Unit. Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead the management of incident reporting via Datix and handle patient complaints, ensuring thorough investigation, appropriate escalation, and timely resolution in line with Trust policies.
  • Perform Pre-assessments for patients for various cardiac procedures
  • Admitting and preparing patients for various cardiac procedures such as Cardiac angiogram, PPM insertion, DCCV, TOE, Loop implants and explants
  • Establish adequate staffing and according to skill mix
  • Assisting patients with their ADLs
  • Coordinated discharge planning with social services, facilitating smoother transitions home.
  • Conducted regular ward rounds for comprehensive health monitoring.
  • Prioritised tasks based on urgency and severity to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
  • Administering medications as prescribed in accordance with NMC and trust guidelines
  • Performing observations and escalation of deteriorating patients including sepsis screening
