I am currently working as Deputy Sister on Acute Cardiac Unit. Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Lead the management of incident reporting via Datix and handle patient complaints, ensuring thorough investigation, appropriate escalation, and timely resolution in line with Trust policies.
• Perform Pre-assessments for patients for various cardiac procedures
• Admitting and preparing patients for various cardiac procedures such as Cardiac angiogram, PPM insertion, DCCV, TOE, Loop implants and explants
• Establish adequate staffing and according to skill mix
• Assisting patients with their ADLs
• Coordinated discharge planning with social services, facilitating smoother transitions home.
• Conducted regular ward rounds for comprehensive health monitoring.
• Prioritised tasks based on urgency and severity to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
• Administering medications as prescribed in accordance with NMC and trust guidelines
• Performing observations and escalation of deteriorating patients including sepsis screening
• Responding to emergencies including cardiac arrests
• To deputise for ward manager in their absence
• Attending ward rounds and participating in MDT meetings such as board rounds
• Assisting in blue-light transfers
• Bleep- holder duties
• Acting for patients in his/her best interest where relevant

• Monitoring blood test results and escalating appropriately for further treatment
• Responding to emergencies including cardiac arrests
• To deputise for the ward manager in their absence

• Acting for the patient in his/her best interest where relevant
• Raising DOLS for patients in their best interest ,where applicable
• Step- up/down and move patients` bed spaces according to their conditions eg: moving a patient from a monitored bed to an unmonitored bed or vice versa, and ensuring smooth flow of patients from ED, EAU or other wards to ACU , as well as patients to discharge lounge or chasing red to green

• Assisting with ADLs of critically ill patients
• Care of patients on ventilators as well as those with tracheostomy, NIV, etc
• Assessing patient`s condition, and implementing necessary care plans
• Assisting the medical team , in performing various procedures such as intubation, bone marrow aspiration, lumbar puncture, etc
• Observing and recording vital signs and escalating where relevant
• Administering medications and other treatments
• Documenting patient care and liaising with MDT and families

• Administering medications as prescribed in accordance with NMC and trust guidelines
