Caerphilly, Wales
  • I have participated in multiple volunteer experience, I volunteered at Hendre primary school coaching netball, I volunteer in the Caerphilly 10k both of these taught me endurance in difficult situations
  • I am first aid trained and have completed a rugby coaching course. This is extra experience that could benefit a job.
  • This experience has made me dependable, able to communicate and able work in intense scenarios. I am able to be organised and work hard.
  • I also participate in a sports leadership course. This is valuable as I can learn to work well under intense situations and learn ways to work in teams. It teaches me beneficial life skills that I can apply to job situations.

Skills

Volunteering experience

This has gained me skills I can use within a job for example :

  • Communication skills- I had to work in teams and understand what needed to be done within the volunteering
  • Team building- In my sports leadership course I had to do tasks within a group to prove we were able to work well within a team
  • Strategic planning- I had to plan sessions and activities to coach and they had to be made to fit age groups and what was expected
  • Leadership- within volunteering I had to take on a leadership role of coaching younger age groups which meant I had to be able to be in control
  • Resourcefulness- I had to do activities using what equipment available and make it specific to age
  • Problem-solving- often working with younger children things can go wrong or not to plan but I had to be able to work around this and adapt
  • Calm under pressure-Another benefit of working with younger children it gave me the ability to stay calm if things went wrong

Education and volunteer has made me become reliable and dependable
