Finance assistant

As Finance assistant I am responsible for the general cleanliness of the sales and purchase ledgers.

My day to day resoponsibilities involve:

  • Coordinating with teams in the wider business to resolve any discrepancies in invoicing or payments.
  • Processing purchase orders into our finance system to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Handling ad-hoc finance related tasks efficiently whilst maintaining high accuracy levels e.g. collecting cash donations on Charity days and keeping records of these.
  • Contributing to team meetings for the development of finance strategies and plans.
  • Ensuring timely payment to suppliers by processing invoices promptly and creating weekly payment runs.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager in preparing year-end accounts, and supporting the audit process by providing relevant information.
  • Facilitating month-end closing procedures to ensure a timely month-end.
  • Completing daily and weekly bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

I also supported end-to-end implementation of our new finance system, playing a key role in the build, UAT, data migration, user training, and producing process documents for other departments. I was responsible for ensuring reconciliation were completed on purchase and sales ledgers so they were complete and robust ready for transfer.
