Acrylonitrile Production Process Design (Bachelor’s Degree Term Project)
Every step of the process design of acrylonitrile production; making theoretical calculations for the design of reactor, heat exchanger, absorber and distillation columns and transferring these calculations to computer simulation, making the process design and producing acrylonitrile. This project was a desktop-based project and lasted for 4 months.
Dimethyl Ether Production Process Design (Bachelor’s Degree Term Project)
The process design of dimethyl ether production; making theoretical calculations for the design of reactor, heat exchanger and distillation columns and transferring these calculations to computer simulation, making the process design. Along this project economical is made based for the whole process. This project was a desktop-based project and lasted for 4 months.
Undergraduate Graduation Thesis (Dissertation) - Development of Supported Nanocatalysts for Generation of Hydrogen from Hydrous Hydrazine
I brought various of metal combinations in contact with a support and tested their ability to generate hydrogen from hydrous hydrazine. I have tried various of different combinations of metals and also tried to find out the best stoichiometric ratio between them for the optimum hydrogen generation. In this project, I have determined all the optimum values for each of these parameters with experiments, tests and calculations I have made based on TOF (Turnover Frequency) number and reported. This project was a lab-based project and lasted for one year.
Ethylbenzene Production Process Design (Master’s Degree Term Project)
This process design of ethylbenzene production via Aspen HYSYS involves; design of reactor (CSTR) and a separator (distillation column) along with auxiliary equipment (e.g. pump, compressor, mixer) to obtain minimum 90% pure ethylbenzene with recycle streams. Additionally, along this project economical analysis is made via Aspen HYSYS. This project was a semester desktop-based project.
Modelling and Simulation of CO2 Capture/Adsorption (Master’s Degree Individual Research Project - Dissertation)
This project is a desktop-based project which covers the carbon capture modelling and simulation specifically CO2 capture by absorption process. This MSc. dissertation research project consists of several sections starting with the background of carbon emissions with innovative solutions to these emissions, continues with the literature survey that covers the approaches and some methods that can be employed with these approaches to capture CO2 from industrial plants along with how to determine the optimum method. The main part of the project is the modelling section where the Aspen software is utilized to design a process for carbon capture. The design is made based on engineering design equations and close to real-life chemical plant parameters. The outcomes obtained from the equipment in Aspen software was consistent with the calculated data based on mathematical equations have been used for an accurate design and modelling. An economic analysis was also included in the project which is made by Aspen HYSYS as well.
I was participated in training programme that allowed me to have an idea about the cosmetics industry with the participation of experienced engineers from the industry sharing their experiences and knowledge about the production processes, testing processes and quality control processes of cosmetic products. This programme lasted for 4 weeks.
In this training program, I had the opportunity to learn about the industry from experienced people who attended the training from various companies from pharmaceutical industry, which was a very useful. I learned about production, laboratory and quality control processes. This programme lasted for 4 weeks.
