Summary

HCPC-registered Senior Occupational Therapist with extensive experience in a fast-paced acute front-door service, delivering holistic, person-centred assessments for adults with complex physical, cognitive, mental health and learning disability needs. Experienced in assessing occupational performance, motivation, engagement, routines and activities of daily living to promote independence, recovery and meaningful participation.

Passionate about providing compassionate, individualised care and consistently going the extra mile to understand each person’s goals, strengths and barriers. Recognised for building strong therapeutic relationships, adapting communication to meet diverse needs, and advocating for patients to ensure they receive the right support both in hospital and within the community.

Skilled in positive risk-taking, complex clinical reasoning, multidisciplinary working and coordinating care across health and social care services. Committed to delivering evidence-based occupational therapy that empowers individuals to achieve their potential, enhances quality of life and supports recovery through a strengths-based, person-centred approach.

One of my greatest professional interests is mental health occupational therapy and understanding the factors that influence an individual’s engagement in meaningful occupations. I enjoy looking beyond the presenting condition to explore why someone may lack motivation or struggle to engage in daily activities. Using occupational therapy models such as the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO), I consider the impact of volition, habituation, performance capacity and environmental influences to develop a holistic understanding of each person’s occupational needs. I value trauma-informed practice, recognising how past experiences can shape behaviour, motivation and participation, and I strive to create a safe, compassionate and empowering therapeutic environment. I believe in going the extra mile to understand the person behind the diagnosis, working collaboratively to build on strengths, restore confidence and support meaningful, sustainable recovery.
