I'm a dedicated and ambitious professional with a genuine passion for working with children and creating safe, nurturing environments. I take pride in helping children feel confident and secure, and I always prioritize safeguarding and confidentiality to earn the trust of both children and colleagues. Friends and colleagues see me as a friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic leader who enjoys managing daily routines smoothly. I also understand the importance of basic first aid and am committed to continually improving my skills. Looking ahead, I’m eager to develop my leadership abilities further in settings that emphasize safety, growth, and positive development for everyone involved.
I keep area/storage surfaces in the kitchen clean and organized, as well as making sure I keep on top of taking out the bins so it doesn't overflow, I make sure I mop the floor before my shift ends and sweep it regularly throughout the day. I take my time washing cutlery, plates and any dishes that come back from residents in the care home,
Some weekends I also work as a hospitality assistant, this is serving Lunch and Breakfast for the residents, as well as taking round a 'tea trolly' Serving cups of tea, coffee and biscuits between each meal. I also help prepare the Sandwiches for Dinner time which they eat with the soup.
I help young children to develop their confidence. Take my own responsibilities by leading activities within my own group. (I plan my own activities, taking on educational ones that are also fun, or just simple arts and crafts.) Some weeks I handle money when taking registration. In the past I have done a lesson on first aid with the girls, just a simple one covering the primary survey and recovery position. I am also a 1-1 with a few girls who have disabilities. (down syndrome, autism, selective mutism etc.) I also go on day trips/weekend residential trips.
In my time as a young leader, I have learnt skills such as teamwork, leadership, and money handling.
I am a determined person and don't give up easily, I have a good attitude and work well as a team. I'm also willing to learn new skills that will help me improve during my time as a team member.
In year 10 I did some work experience in Manchester Airport IT department, it was a fun few days and gave me a taste of what work is like.
I enjoy writing, and sometimes write my own short stories to pass time. I'm quite literate and read a lot, mainly literature from the late 30s - early 50s. (My favourite author being JD Salinger). One of my main interests is Music, especially classic rock. In my free time I used to do Army Cadets, (before I aged out) and currently do Volunteering at Brownies as a leader. And whenever I get the chance I tend to volunteer with college. Occasionally I play video games, but mainly board/physical games. I'm interested in TV shows like 'doctor who' and 'buffy the vampire slayer'
I am currently studying at Trafford College doing a Uniformed Services course, I am on my second year, with my grades for the first year being a distinction merit.
