I am a first-year Pharmacy student at De Montfort University, Leicester. I am a hardworking, dedicated worker who always strives to complete tasks to the best of my ability. I have over two years of part-time retail experience gained while working weekends and evenings alongside studying for my A Levels. Throughout this role, I have developed strong customer service, communication and conflict resolution skills. Furthermore, I have completed over a week of work experience working at a community and hospital pharmacy, helping to reinforce the skills I have previously learnt, as well as learning new skills in order to adapt to this new, busy environment. This work experience provided insight into the responsibilities of pharmacists on a day-to-day basis and confirmed my passion for the field of pharmacy. I am a motivated and reliable individual eager to learn more about pharmacy and share my passion with those around me.
Throughout this role, I demonstrated teamwork, communication, adaptability and problem-solving skills. I collaborated with my colleagues to provide personalised care to all residents at the care home. This required excellent communication skills due to the busy nature of the care home. Furthermore, a main part of my role was accompanying residents during lunch and during activities. I have learnt proficient problem-solving skills throughout this role because each day is different. I found myself in various complex situations, forcing me to learn to adapt to solve problems efficiently.
At the end of my A Levels, I won the Whole School Community Award for my hard work, contributing to the school community to make it a safer, more enjoyable place to be.
I completed a course with the Holocaust Educational Trust to become a Holocaust Ambassador.
