I greatly enjoy partaking in new experiences. I have previously spent a month away in Borneo, Malaysia as a part of a volunteer group working on multiple humanitarian projects involving the construction of drainage systems, toilet facilities, a sports running track and litter picking for small rural communities. During this, i had the opportunity to spend time with the residents of these communities which allowed me to bond and build positive relationships.
I have previously worked at a local cafe establishment which allowed me to interact with customers daily as well as take orders and prepare beverages and light meals. I also helped maintain cleanliness and ensured the cafe ran smoothly during operating hours. Due to small team working at the the cafe, i had the opportunity to take on a wide variety of responsibilities such as serving customers while creating a strong rapport with repeated customers, restocking supplies, cleaning and supporting colleagues throughout busy periods. This role supported me to build confidence, improve upon my communication skills and enabled me to work efficiently under pressure. More specifically, i strived to deliver friendly and efficient customer service in a busy cafe environment to ensure a positive experience for customers. I maintained high quality standards whilst doing necessary tasks to keep the cafe running. Working in a small team allowed for the perfect opportunity for me to demonstrate strong communication skills, reliability, and multitasking skills during both busy and slow periods of the day. I also supported in resolving any customer queries professionally and efficiently and contributed to a welcoming atmosphere.
