• Provide expert professional advice to develop and lead the education and training strategy to enable staff in the Organ Donation Teams Specialist Nurses-Organ Donation (SN-ODs) to make best use of their potential, meet the needs of a changing workforce and new models of care and ensure a safe and effective workforce.
• Develop and implement education, training and professional development for SN-ODs and support staff, ensuring the delivery of NHSBT Corporate Strategy and relevant national Nursing initiatives/strategies.
• Responsible for ensuring education and professional development is responsive to changing service and workforce needs
• Lead specific projects and areas of work, developing strategies for service improvement that reflect clinical, professional, and corporate objectives.
• Network externally to identify best practice and training opportunities to support the strategic direction of the Directorate.
• Act as a facilitator in the management and implementation of change,

• Responsible for the delivery of the induction, mentoring and training of newly appointed members and established staff within the Organ Donation teams.
• Acting as an excellent role model demonstrating advanced clinical skills and knowledge in the field of organ donation.
• Provide high level expert advanced practice.
• Create education and training packages.
• Develop, and review competencies for organ donation
• Support existing coaching/mentoring/supervision arrangements within organ donation teams
• Act as facilitator in managing change.
• Participate in the on-call rota requiring out of hours working.
