Work history

Arcade Assistant

Twilight Zone
Ballymena, Mid and East Antrim
09.2023 - Current

I currently work in an arcade, Twilight Zone, owned by EZE Gaming Ltd., a Northern Irish local, family business that has been providing gambling machines to the country for over 30 years. I decided to take up this position as it was another customer-oriented role, in which I have a pre-established wealth of experience. Performing in another dynamic customer-facing environment, I have honed my skills in providing exceptional service and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons. This role required me to be highly attentive to detail, vigilant in monitoring activities, and adept at handling various situations with professionalism and composure. Not only that but I am given the responsibility of handling large sums of money each shift, with floats being thousands at a time. Thus, I am well-versed in adhering to strict regulatory guidelines and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards. This experience has instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility and an acute awareness of the importance of maintaining a secure and ethical work environment. I am confident that the skills and experiences I gained in the gambling arcade industry have prepared me to excel in a variety of customer-oriented roles. I am eager to bring my dedication to exceptional service, keen attention to detail, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments to a new opportunity.

Kitchen Porter

Snax N The City
Belfast, Belfast
09.2022 - 05.2023

With similar experience from my previous position in the Merchant, I was able to take up my next position in Snax N The City, a small café in Belfast. Though small in size, the café saw hundreds of customers a day and was my most pressure-filled position to date. I worked in the kitchen as a kitchen porter, yet my responsibilities were not limited to this. Not only did I wash dishes and keep the premises clean, but I took orders at the till, provided customer service to all, waited tables, and even delivered orders outside of the shop. Throughout my time here I showed a devotion to completing all of what was expected from me to the greatest quality possible, an approach I feel is paramount in all roles for a business to succeed.

Festive Colleague

Tesco
Ballymena, Mid and East Antrim
10.2021 - 02.2022

While I was a temporary staff at Tesco for the festive period, I made a real contribution to helping the company prevail through arguably the busiest time of year for all companies. I was given the duty of stocking the shelves with hundreds of products each shift all while providing customer service to those in need on the shop floor. This experience was extremely helpful as I learned how it was to work under one of the largest companies in the UK and enhance my teamwork capabilities.

Employee

The Merchant Fish & Chip Shop
Ballymena, Mid and East Antrim
06.2020 - 10.2021

Being my first job, this is where I initially learned to work as a team to achieve an ultimate goal; providing a service. I worked throughout the COVID-19 lockdown as an essential worker at a Fish and Chip Shop in my local village, learning basic cleaning duties, handling money, and delivering essential customer service, all while in a pressure-filled environment. I worked here for over a year until I found a more suitable opportunity in a larger company to expand my skills across industries.

Accomplishments

I attended the third annual International Forum for Peace, Security, and Prosperity for 2023 in Piazza Armerina, Sicily as a representative of the UK. There, I, along with servicemen and women from 26 other countries from around the world attended a march for peace and undertook 4 days of activities, seminars, and conferences to better educate us future policy-makers and collaboratively explore the role of the military, institutions of public order, and justice, in establishing the basis for a flourishing global community based on peace and prosperity. The approach of the IFPSP is "...without justice, there can be no peace; without security, there can be no justice. Only when justice and security enable freedom, can sustainable peace support the development of a society and its ultimate prosperity."
