Over 44 years working in the retail sector with 40 years in management.
After a decade or so being self employed restoring and selling Canal Boats I was approached by Narrowboats Ltd. Northwich and appointed as Executive Director.
Prior to being involved with restoring boats I was self employed starting managing my own business Ashley Communications of Winsford in 1989. 37 years on Ashley Comms is now operated by my step son.
From 1963 to 1989 I was in the retail motor trade, starting as apprentice motor mechanic achieving a City & Guilds Certificate then progressing to becoming Group Sales Manager overseeing the sales operations of three franchised garage's.
In 1986 I was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry.
Having spent 44 years in the retail sector and 40 years in a management role I feel well suited to the position available at Nantwich As an active (young) 78 year old total retirement doesn't suit me, I miss the responsibility of overseeing the efficient operation of a retail outlet and 20 hours a week would keep both the wife and myself happy
