I looked after both of my parents. My father had dementia for several years and I gave up my job to care for both parents. My father passed away in 2022 and my mother passed away in December 2024.
During that time I arranged for all of the hospital/doctors appointments, would make all of their meals, housework and looked after their finances.
I liaised with all of the external agencies involved that helped with my parents care, and I was there for them 24 hours a day and moved back into the family property to take care of them.

I am a caring person and always punctual and never late I am very dependable and would like to work in the care sector as I have been looking after my parents the past three years full-time I also did part-time caring for my father for many years, as he suffered with dementia for a considerable time
I feel that I am have the right skill set to work in this sector as I am kind and the welfare of the frail and elderly has always been a concern of mine
I am good natured and have a good sense of humour and I also have an excellent work ethic I get along with people easily and am now looking for a full time role in the care sector, ideally working 40 hours plus per week
In my early twenties I cared for my daughter and she had SMA, she died after a few months and this had a major impact on my life I have realised that life can be short and fragile and that is why I was quite willing to look after my parents full-time, as they always looked after me
I have always empathised with others and put myself forward to help out where and when I can, either in the Local British Legion or helping with my Dad's football team and Mum's friends
After several months of my Mum passing I am really keen to work in the care sector as I feel that is where I will be happy as I do get on with people of all ages Having an empathetic nature and my own personal history would make me a good fit to becoming a full-time carer, as I do want a new career transition
