I've volunteering experience by working in charity shops and in groups with people with disabilities I've experience on working on the cash register by scanning the item and then giving the correct change and being friendly and pleasant to the customers and making sure they have a good experience and would want to come back to the store I have also safeguarding training so I know how to handle a difficult situation without panicking and making sure its a nice peaceful environment for both staff and shoppers .

  • I've currently just started volunteer at centre 81 in garelochead helping people with disabilities by doing the tuckshop by offering snacks and drinks like coffee and teas etc, then on somedays can be different with serving there lunch to them then collecting the dishes afterwards and just making sure all have a great time at the groups and enjoy themselves . sometimes may also clean the gym/ clean the tables etc to maintain hygiene and safety
  • and using the till as well by typing in the amount the item was and then giving the change by calculating the amount they get back in change
  • stocking the fridges if emptied by putting cans in a certain way as well as the coffee machine if it ran out of coffee of water
  • helping with the kitchen by string the soap or getting ingredients from the fridge

  • in Debra the routine can change sometimes its not always the same job
  • sometimes it will be on the till or processing the clothes
  • we would sometimes have to rag the bags for the stuff that we couldn't sell to another shop
  • Tuesday's were the delivery days so we would have to help with lifting coaches into the van and other heavy stuff
  • and also had to clean the shop floor for rubbish and dust sometimes price tags that were lying on the floor
  • and making sure the shop was nice and well maintained
  • and also greeting customers when they come into the store by saying good Moring or afternoon
