I am a passionate and hard-working student of electrical engineering, with a specific interest in high-voltage systems and electrical machines and drive systems. I have been committed and exploring engineering my whole life, for example I received an 18-volt cordless drill for my 5th birthday and have been using power tools and making things from age 5. I am also a railway enthusiast having volunteered at the Bluebell Heritage Railway as part of 'Thumper-1305' (a group dedicated to restoring an old Thumper DEMU.) It is here I gain my passion for how to improve and engineer the operation of trains and the railway. I perform well under pressure and work punctually and efficiently to a deadline, and am able to adapt to many different engineering contexts.
Part-time work comprised of a vast range of construction and plumbing tasks such as the installation and testing of bathroom-based systems and heating systems.
Demonstrated problem solving, self sufficient thinking and strong work ethic as well as the ability to safely use hand tools, power tools and machine tools.
Helped to write, proof read and analyse phase 1, 2 and 3 reports of a section of land. Using OS maps dating back to the mid 1800's to investigate past use and potential contamination to suggest remedial measures to decontaminate the land suitable for use.
Developed skills in working as a team to produce reports and provide data on sources of contamination to select suitable remedial measures.
Ensured timely completion of projects to ensure there was no delay in the procedure overall.
Practical and realistic problem solving
Mathematically capable in an engineering context
Machining (use of lathes and milling machines)
Welding (TIG welding and Stick welding)
General metalwork, for example knife making and restoration of old tools
Woodworking / carpentry
