Work history

Mixology bartender

Link47
Londonderry, Northern Ireland
04.2025 - Current

I returned to Link47 because I was offered a better paying job at the time to the one I was currently in. This time around I specialize in making cocktails at a high volume and pace. This has taught me how to manage my time effectively as with this role I must be able create cocktails at a fast pace during busy periods of time, especially weekends. Since returning I have been given more responsibility as I have to present my area effectively to the public. I train the skill of cocktail making to my colleagues or new staff. I am responsible for ordering fruit, purees, spirits, and so on. I enjoy making different weekly specials to entice the customers to buy and to encourage repeat custom week in and week out.

Mixology bartender

Posthouse
Belfast
10.2024 - 03.2025

During my time at Posthouse I worked as a bartender and mixoligist. This bar was a mainly student bar so it allowed me to meet a lot of new people in the same position as me. In here I stayed updated on the latest mixology trends, improving overall quality of bar service. I was able to provide excellent service under pressure, managing large crowds during popular nights out effectively.

Bartander

Link47
Londonderry, Northern Ireland
07.2023 - 08.2024

During my time working in the bar I learned how to work well with customers and build up relationships with them. This job showed me how to work well in a team. We had a team of about eight of us and we all got to know each other very well in my time working there. In here I learned how to pour pints, make a several amount of different cocktails, and many more different combinations of drinks. We had to be able to handle pressure and work efficiently during busy times of service. These days would usually be the weekends and we also worked functions and tributes within the bar. With working these I had to work on my own during functions which helped me to be independent working myself and not relying on other people to help me. When the bar would be closed for the night we would of made sure that the bar was fully stocked, surfaces left spotless and the floor was moped and brushed. This again taught me to keep my own home clean throughout my time at university.

Sales Assistant

Homebase
Londonderry, Northern Ireland
11.2021 - 07.2023

This is the job that I gained the most skills from to date. During my years of employment at Homebase I gained the ability to talk to customers with respect and helpfulness. I believe good customer service will help you out in any field of work. I was able to talk to customers with respect and was able to answer any queries and point them in the right direction. I was also on the tills a lot with this job so I was able to carry out any function on the tills whether it be an exchange, a refund, or just a simple cash or card transaction. We also would of dealt with a busy period around summer and Christmas time as we specialized in Christmas decorations which ranged from, trees, lights, decorations and lots more. During the summer we were busy because we also specialized in areas such as lawn mowers and our massive garden section where we sold plants, plant feed, garden tools and many more. I think this job allowed me to become a better version of myself when it came to working with people as it taught me so much about how engage with the public. We had a big team of about thirty compared to some of my other jobs which helped me to be able to communicate with a far bigger team and have my voice heard if needed. I was also able to cash up the tills at the end of our trading days which give me experience dealing with banking.

Sales Assistant

Tesco
Londonderry, Northern Ireland
12.2021 - 12.2021

During my time at Tesco I was a temporary Christmas worker where I would of worked at the tills during the busy time of December. I gained very important till skills from this position as I am now to this day till trained. From the short time I was here I was able to learn how to navigate and work in a very busy working environment.

Housekeeper

Beech Hill Hotel
Londonderry, Northern Ireland
06.2021 - 10.2021

During my time at the Beech Hill I would of been given the task to clean the hotel rooms where I would change the beds, clean the bathrooms, and make sure the rooms were spotless for the next set of guests staying over. I also worked functions the odd time during weddings and would've worked cleaning shifts where I would make sure the toilets were clean and stocked up for the guests to use. We had a team of around six to seven people and we were given a set of rooms to do on a daily basis, we would be paired up in twos and when we had finished our rooms in a timely manor we would then offer our help to the other colleagues who were still working. This alone introduced me to be able to work with a team and communicate effectively with people.
