Career Gap

  • From 2011 I have blessed to be undertaking the most rewarding role I could ever wish to have: being a full-time, stay at home mum. In this time, I have had the occasional part time, short-term positions, however my main focus has been the children. I have also been a foster carer during this time (we began our fostering journey in 2015 and fostered for nearly 3 years), looking after vulnerable children until they are able to be moved back home, or on to adoption. I enjoy inputting into children’s lives, and to further my personal studies, I completed a Childcare Diploma in 2017, and I began working part-time in a nursery in January 2018 between a gap in foster placements. As I was due to return to fostering, my son became seriously ill, and spent a short time in hospital. As a family, we felt fostering needed to be put on hold whilst we focussed on the needs of our own children. My son has since fully recovered and been released from consultant care.
  • Since then, we have been blessed for me to remain at home with the children and I home educate them, with my working on a self-employed basis just a few hours a week.
  • I am actively involved in church life, volunteering regularly at church.
