I worked at Beechwood Unit, a community hospital which entailed rehabilitation, long-term conditions, and end-of-life care. Specific charters in the Royal Marsden Manual on subjects should as wound care, catheterisation, pressure ulcer prevention, and malnutrition. Community hospitals provide inpatient specialist services for adult patients who require 24 hour inpatient care for sub-acute medicine and have a combination of needs. These patients may have had an acute illness, had a deterioration in their health due to a long-term condition or require medical, physical or specialist rehabilitation. Some of our units also have dedicated beds forCooperated with multidisciplinary teams to deliver health care plans.
I did a placement at Knightley ward which entailed common medical disorders including Stroke, Diabetes, Chest Infection, Pneumonia,
Urinary Tract Infection, Constipation, Dehydration/Acute Kidney Injuries. Confusion in
the Elderly including delirium.
