Euan Ross

• My main role as Engine Preparation Technician is to strip engines down, document and log anything unusual.
• Work with the other departments such as the machine shop and parts department to ensure that everything is sent to the right places and everyone has the correct information about what is needed. Once all the external work is completed I prepare and organise all the parts, build assemblies, check clearances, tolerances and balance the rotating assembly so that all the engine builders need to do is bolt them to the block.
• The role has utilised many skills learned in my previous career path and taught me how to use them in a way that works in the automotive industry. Outside of the prep work I am mechanically competent and have replaced head gaskets and rebuilt water pumps on cars in the workshop.
• Attention to detail to make sure everything is perfect is super important especially with the notability and age of the cars and engines not only are they priceless and rare but no one car is the same as another.
• The ability to work under time constraints and pressure for cars that are due at events. Especially cars that are due to race at Goodwood Revival and attend concourse shows
• Working with and managing my colleges. Although my role isn’t in management my role feeds many other departments with work so to ensure efficiency and high standards I must make sure I am ahead of the curve in organising mine and others tasks.

• Attaining a more senior role has given me a further understanding to the inner workings of the company and taught me to efficiently manage responsibilities of higher demand.

• Attention to detail is key to giving all members the best and most positive experience

• Listening and responding to feedback from members and staff on how to improve the club for everyone

• I have worked this role over an important refurbishment resulting in sporadic overnight changes. Regular detailed checks for health and safety along with the quality of work had to be assessed before opening anything new or the club entirely.
• I still retain a role at David Lloyd in operations on a lower hours part time basis along with my other employments.

• Coaching both the trampoline and gymnastics syllabus in a safe, engaging environment to age 4-18 years.

• Lead a small team of coaches, organising shifts and exchanging constructive feedback for their continued professional development.

• Set up trampolines and gymnastics equipment following an in depth check to ensure the safety of all staff and participants.

• Delivering feedback to participants on where to improve and steps to progress safely.

• Introduce new participants and taster sessions with a briefing on safety and what to expect.

• Communicate with parents on their child's progress and behaviour within the classes.

• Assess feedback and queries through the means of phone calls and emails.

• Lifeguarded the pool ensuring all users are safe and in a good environment

• Keeping the premises / facilities clean and tidy and that all jobs are done to good standard.

• Instructing teams of staff on certain tasks and ensuring that it is completed properly.

• Bridge communication between managers and other supporting teams.

• Conducting Duty Manager role for smoothly ran leisure complex.

• Effective handover and communication.

• Duties include: replying to emails, receiving calls from suppliers and customers, work behind the work behind the till on reception.

• I managed the team of lifeguards and recreation assistant reporting directly to me along with leading the staff in other departments who were on my shifts.
