I am a motivated and enthusiastic character and love helping others where I can. in love to lead an active lifestyle and take part in various team and solo sports. I have experience working in a team as a part on my position as a waiter and have experience working alone, leading activities at a summer camp.
Since September 2022 I have worked as a waiter for the Mulberry Inn; I continue to work there when my schedule permits.
I started as a food runner, delivering food to tables and ensuring the customers had everything they wanted. When I was experienced enough I worked my way to head food runner, where I would work as the primary liaison between front of house and the kitchen, supervising and coordinating a team of 3 during high volume service hours. I frequently trained new staff and continuously picked up new responsibilities and eventually became sufficiently knowledgeable to work front of house. This position involves greeting customers as they arrived, check their reservations and seating them at their table. I really enjoyed recommending food choices and taking their orders, having become well acquainted with the menu over time.
Over a 2 week period I attended a children's summer camp as a helper. a typical day started with greeting the 5 - 15 year olds and taking a register, then escorting them to base camp. While the organisers went through the days activities, I would help the children look after and store their kit appropriately. I then escorted groups of children to their activities which included rifle shooting, pancake making and den building. I was required to supervise large groups and resolve the regular conflicts that occurred between the younger ones. With the skills I built up attending these camps when I was younger, I did 1 on 1 teaching with many on how to safely use knives, axes and saws, so that the kids were able to get their safety skills ticked off, enabling them to go off into the forest alone with these tools and build dens and rope swings. Children often had regular falls into the river and that meant I had to help them dry off their clothes by a fire and change into warmer and drier ones.
