Work experience
In 2023, I did a weeks work experience at Hunter Douglas’ headquarters in Colwick. They are leading manufacturers for big companies like Hillary’s blinds and Blinds2Go. During the week we did a full tour of all the departments including finance, creative marketing, Human Resources and their IT department. This was very interesting because as a group we carried out many team building activities and also independent projects, leading up to manufacturing our own blinds at the end of the course. It was a very informative and inspirational experience.
Voluntering
During the summer break of 2022, I partook in the NCS programme where we spend a week at a Kingswood residential where we engaged in a lot of team building exercises in order for us the learn to work well in large groups. This prepared us for the second week as we had to plan and organise a charity event in our set groups and had to carry this out by the end of the week in order raise money for a charity of our choice and receive a certificate.
