I live at home with my husband of 33 years along with my 2 children and my beautiful Golden Retriever Maggie. I love being outdoors especially spending time in my garden with friends and family. I enjoy reading, walking and going on city breaks.

Work History

Care Systems Lead

  • To optimise and maintain all existing care systems used across our 16 homes. Ensuring the systems used – Care and Clinical (Care Planning), Medication Management, and Care Compliance are created, continually developed, analysed, and evaluated.
  • To support strong working relationships with Access in relation to care systems provision and development, as well as to lead on any day-to-day technical support or queries raised by the homes.
  • To optimise the functionality of all systems to enable the gathering and analysis of the systems' data as required in support of our internal inspection processes and KPIs.
  • To deliver scheduled or ad-hoc group or individual training sessions to staff at all role levels on using Care and Clinical, Medication Management, and Care Compliance. To design and implement new forms/resources within systems to enhance care planning, medication management, and governance.
  • To lead the development of all systems in order to support the production of regular and ad hoc reports for the Assistant Director of Quality and Governance, and other members of the Care Operations Team.
  • To liaise with the Pharmacy and Dementia Lead, and the National Clinical Governance Lead, to develop and maintain system resources to effectively manage the care and support of residents living with dementia, learning disabilities, or nursing requirements.
  • To support ongoing quality and governance, identifying our KPIs, and assisting with developing policies and procedures across all 16 homes.
  • To undertake all mandatory training, training of interest and attend all care operations and team meetings.

  • To chair regular staff meetings, relatives meetings and residents meetings and to provide regular supervisions and appraisals identifying any training needs and development for all staff.
  • To contribute along with the Home Manager to the annual budgets identifying potential budget savings.
  • Daily I would lead and manage a team of staff to ensure that all residents were healthy, happy, safe and that their independence was respected and promoted.
  • I dealt with occupancy, waiting lists, and attended all pre-admission visits.
  • I was responsible for staff recruitment, retention, and ongoing development.
