Overall, I am very driven when it comes to learning new skills. I always want to improve my knowledge on working in different environments, and I am a very punctual individual. I have lots of experience where working with members of the public is concerned, and I always have a smile on my face when interacting with them, and just in general. I am very strong and open minded, I persevere through difficult situations, and never give up. I have and will always be focused in the work place, and ready to take on whatever is thrown my way.
Last year, whilst doing my GCSE'S, I started doing voluntary work at Barnardos children store, which I still currently do every Wednesday, and I sometimes do a little bit more if I have any free time. Last summer, I was there every other day. This has once again, allowed me to keep developing my skills when dealing with customers, and being friendly towards them. I sometimes work on the till, so I feel I am more than capable of handling situations where I need to be on the till. I am also good at tidying, I pay attention to detail, and I did have to sometimes rearrange the shop so it looked neat and presentable.
I currently work in hospitality. Since I started in February, I have been able to develop a lot of new skills. Such as taking plates away from people when they have done eating, sorting out problems if they needed new cutlery etc. This has made me really good at dealing with customers when they have certain complaints, and it's made me good with people in general. I am always nice to the customers and ask if everything was alright, and told them that if they need anything more they can ask me straight away. I have been able to adapt to working in hospitality really well, and I think I could adapt to another environment too.
I have worked with my parents during different holidays such as the 6 weeks, and also some half terms. This allowed me to get real insight into how working in a busy environment can actually be. I dealt with customers over the phone, and was taught from a young age how to act professional and kind to them.
