Provided Collection Consultancy for National Lottery Heritage Funded 'A Stitch in Time' project. (Contract value up to £4,000)

• Developed Collection Care Plan to review and enhance collection storage and display conditions
• Created Collection Development Policy to bring clarity to decision making around donation, acquisition, backlog and disposal
• Provided audit opportunities and training for staff and volunteers in Collection Care, Object Handling, Collection Audit Methodology and Modes input so that momentum can continue beyond contract

• Large sample survey to review the contents of every 28th shelf of historic company records (bound volumes, bundles to printed sheets) to identify digitisation and rehousing need, potential hazards and assess contamination risks
• Conducted acid detection tests on every 17th box of microfiche collection to ensure preservation standards, identify and limit damage
• Make recommendations to Companies House to balance need with care

In this role I work across all facets of Collection Management and Care in a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO)

• Prepared policy, plans and procedures to Museum Accreditation standards
• Collaborated with Luton Borough Council to programme refurbishments and improvements in collection storage and care
• Recruited and supervised team of 10 Collection Volunteers to address documentation backlog, carry out open display cleans and research the collection
• Implemented new collection management system, Collection Index + to ensure compliance with Spectrum 5.2
• Plan, prepared and delivered ambitious programme of community centred exhibitions and rotations

Two contracts working within the Library and Archives department

• Strategic review of conservation provision and resource within RBG, Kew. Strengthened stakeholder relationships, recommended new ways of working and prioritisation tools to improve the working life of team, increase resource and care for the collection
• Object conservation and documentation for the dual exhibition exploring Kew's colonial history - The Singh Twins: 'Botanical Tales and Seeds of Empire' and 'Flora Indica'

I introduced the team at Wellcome Collection to the charity and volunteered with them, conserving the most severely impacted textile and mixed media panels.

• Provided strategic support and guidance as 'Heritage Partner' to prepare funding bid to National Lottery Heritage Fund
• Facilitated workshops at Tate Modern's turbine hall takeover, enhancing community engagement and drive donations

• At Wellcome Collection I thoroughly enjoyed heading up a core team of 8, Conservators (4), Collection Storage Manager (1) and Collection Assistants (3) with specialist freelancers to deliver an ambitious programme of international loans, touring and internal exhibitions, research, digitisation and live events.

• Working across all Science Museum Group sites gave me the opportunity to strengthen my project management, gain further experience working with capital projects and bolster my influencing skills.
• I recruited project teams to support programmes of digitisation, exhibition and acquisition.
