During my last two years of school, i decided to pick health and social care as an option. I felt this would be a valuable skill to developed based on what i wanted to do.
During my two years studying health and social care, we learnt the care and craft that goes into providing care to the old. disabled and vulnerable.
This option stood out for me as i like nothing more than caring for people that need it the most. In my home life, i have to help and care for my two younger brothers who have autism and my sister who has Down syndrome .
In also spent two years studying child development at school.
During these two years we were taught about the development of a life from, new born to a young child. Again, this become very useful in my home life and giving me not only learning experience but first hand experience.
After leaving school i enrolled at Nottingham College to study Applied science level 2 and progressed onto level 3. I did this with the intention of progressing my understanding on human anatomy. I believed that studying applied science would benefit me as it gave me a combination of chemistry, physics and biology and how each of these can expand my knowledge to progress of the field of work i want to be in.
During work experience at The Orchard Garden day nursery, i was given a few different responsibilities .
1. Working with children from the age of 3 months old to four years old.
2. Ensuring children were fed on time and cared for correctly
3. Facilitating in and outdoor play times
4 .Exposure to caring for different age groups
