My duties within this role is to support people with learning difficulties/epilepsy. Within this role i organise activities for people to partake in. Some examples of these activities / sessions are:
- Sports and games sessions this is where people partake in a wide variety of adapted sports such as football, basketball, boccia and cricket.
- Cooking sessions to plan and deliver cooking sessions where people prepare, cook and enjoy the food they cook.
- Computer sessions to successfully plan sessions which enable people to improve ICT skills and computer knowledge.
In my role as a support worker I support people to access the community for social visits such as cafe/ pub visits, swimming sessions, sport sessions such as basketball and football and to attend any other social / leisure activities.
Within my role as a support worker is to support people to attend medical appointments, promote positive outcomes for the people i support, communicate with family / external providers such as social workers and other professionals.
Within this role i assisted support workers in supporting people this included personal care, supporting in preplanned activities such as swimming, pub / cafe visits and medical appointments.
