I am a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant currently working in Hardy Ward at Northwick Park Hospital, part of the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust since April 2024. I provide high-quality, person-centred care, supporting patients with daily living activities such as washing, dressing, eating, mobilising, and toileting, always maintaining dignity and promoting independence. I am confident in monitoring and recording vital signs, fluid balance, weight, and bowel movements, escalating concerns in line with NEWS2.
I competently perform tasks such as blood glucose monitoring, urine dipstick testing, ECGs, bladder scanning, wound care support, and venepuncture under supervision, following Trust policies and infection control standards. Supporting patient mobility is a key part of my role, using safe manual handling techniques and working closely with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to achieve rehabilitation goals and prevent falls or pressure sores. I am trained in Basic Life Support and respond effectively in emergencies, ensuring accurate documentation and clear communication during handovers. I value strong teamwork within the multidisciplinary team and communicate sensitively with patients and families, including in end-of-life care. I uphold the Trust’s HEART values in all interactions.
Previously, I worked at Shan Care 24 Ltd in Chase Care Home, caring for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, stroke complications, and complex needs. I developed skills in safeguarding, dementia awareness, and managing challenging behaviours while ensuring dignity and person-centred care. In 2020, I volunteered with the Kerala Government’s First Line Treatment Centre during COVID-19, supporting elderly individuals with assessments, infection control, and emotional reassurance.
