I received this award for dedication to my studies in my Level 2 Sport Science course. I was also committed to extra curricular activities including the school and football team. I was an influential member of both teams, using my positive attitude to motivate my peers and encourage them to try their best at all times. This award was presented at the end of my Year 11 studies.
NCS award- 2021
In my school I participate in sport leadership and coach the children. I believe it's important to educate pupils in the significance of health and wellbeing. In order to portray the message, interactive and entertaining sessions, help engage younger individuals and make the lesson worthwhile. I have taken part of the NCS programme for 2 weeks and I was to do a social action project called power 4 poverty. As a group, we decided to raise money for the homeless by donating to a local food bank. We raised £217 in two days and divided it in half through to charities the swan bank charity and the number 11 charity. I valued this experience as I was able to work in the community and provide a service to help
others. Moreover, I did team activities such as watersports to be able to build relationships and skills with people I hadn't worked with previously. Also, we worked alongside Port Vale and I was able to go to a football game to raise money for our organization
During Year 10 I volunteered to enrol on a course supplied by Career Ready for a year. This opportunity enabled me to learn about the world of work whilst developing my employability skills. Throughout the year I was able to interact with a wide range of employers from different industries, who provided me with personal mentoring linked to developing my employability potential. I was able to develop a wide range of skills including communication, resilience, professionalism, teamwork and independence. I also gained experience in approaching employers and interview skills as well as how to provide a good first impression. I also developed my awareness of the importance of presentation and how to present myself within the workplace. At the end of my course, I was also provided with the opportunity to undertake a work-place visit at AO.com where I gained an insight into the work-place, their daily roles and responsibilities and the pressures that employees face on a day to day basis. I was also able to undertake a mock interview with an AO.com employer which was invaluable in developing my confidence and my ability to express my strengths during a pressured situation.
I have first aid training that is valid from the 11th June 2024 until June 10th 2027
I was studying at the sixth form at The Kings CE school in Kidsgrove where I enjoyed studying BTEC Science, Level 3 Health and Social Care and Level 3 OCR Sport and Physical Activity. I have had a passion working with people from all ages. I enjoy caring and helping others, particularly to empower others to have a positive mindset to have good physical and mental wellbeing. This quality stems from my experience of living with my sibling who has autism and hyper-sensitive issues which can often lead to challenging behaviours. Equally living with a sibling with autism can be very educational and help me to change my views when being with others with special needs or special ability. These experiences have enhanced my understanding and ability to be empathetic towards people's individual needs. I learnt how to adapt to different needs by utilizing different approaches such as communication techniques to ensure this key factor is essential. I like to keep busy by putting effort into the work I do. For example, I have demonstrated being resilient and can work independently by undertaking my studies during the pandemic. I utilized time to prioritize work, seeking online support when required, researching subjects online to further my knowledge and speak to others on phone for any open discussions.
. Throughout my studies my high work ethic has led to outstanding achievements in terms of the grades that I have achieved. I am currently doing a Bachelor degree in Psychology and Sen and I am very passionate in this course as I am determined to go into a career within these subjects.
