I have worked for Eden Futures for 7 years starting on nights before going on to days. I have a number of responsibilities as i support vulnerable adults with LD and challenging behaviours. This includes supporting them with every day life skills such as house chores, setting up utility bills, helping them to gain more independence to live a fulfilled life supporting them on a person centred basis to making sure there individual needs are met. If there are needs that we cannot meet then we will help them with contacting outside resources is occupational health, enablement teams.
I will attend staff meetings so that we can discuss any issues that may have and work together to find solutions. I have had also helped management when needed such as help with rotas, allocating staff for service users on a 1-1, doing audits and have also attended meetings and assessment for service users.
My job role as an HCA was to give each one person centred care, respect, privacy, dignity. I would help them with personal care and be with them at there end of life, supporting them and the loved ones.
I did all of the relevant training including first aid, end of life care. I also got my level 2 and 3 in care.
