
I am a professionally qualified Youth Worker level 3 and DET level 5 teaching equivalent in Further Education. I have over 20 years experience working in numerous leadership and practice roles. I have extensive experience of working directly with young people and their families. I am passionate about early help and preventative initiatives. I have an aptitude to working with young and vulnerable people. I possess exceptional interpersonal skills and an excellent team player. I adapt to challenging situations, work well under pressure and dedicated to reflexivity and ongoing development. I have a good sense of humour and dynamic approach to get the job done.
Provide 1:1 support to students with SEND. Promoting independence to young people facing challenges in engaging in education including deescalation of behavioural incidents. In addition, tailored 1:1support to young person with Cerebral Palsy, engaging in stretch range and motion, and therapeutic interventions. Undertaking holistic assessment to in form EHCP.
Lead youth provision in Ladbroke Grove, devising bespoke programmes for young people. Different funded projects to engage vulnerable young people at risk of criminal exploitation. Late Night Project specifically funded to reduce ASB in the local vicinity. Multi agency partnership working with police, social care, CAMHS, etc.
Lead a small team to provide personalised support for young people with learning disabilities to live independently, build relationships and community integration. Needs assessment undertaken to inform tangible support plans.
Leading on employability programme - specifically focusing on Construction Trades. Qualified FE teacher delivering taught syllabus, duties included multi agency engagement to negotiate suitable placements. Ofsted rated 'Good' with specific commendation of my area of responsibility. Safeguarding responsibility with appropriate escalation to local authority for 16-17 year olds.
Working directly with young people and their families affected by the Grenfell tragedy. 1:1 specialist trauma informed programmes to specifically engage young people 13-19 years. Wider support offered to families, including helping complete benefit application process and relocation of families.
