COMMUNITY SERVICE

Part of the local cricket club within my community. I qualified as a level one coach which I have found to be an interesting, enjoyable and challenging experience. It allows me to work with younger children wanting to have fun and become part of a team. Some of the activities I have been involved in include outdoor training and winter nets, organising football and cricket matches. My role is to encourage children to become involved as this is an opportunity for them to develop a variety of skills as well as participating in a sporting event. I have also participated in voluntary work at the same club during the cricket season which runs from February to September. I am actively involved in the yearly bonfire, selling glow sticks, general running of the ground, organise the teams and I am also a member in the second team., In December every year over the Christmas period, I become actively involved along with other members of the family to raise funds for a well-known charity Cancer Research, we hired a market stall and made hundreds of cushions which we sold to members of the public. We as a group purchased the material and using our creativity skills designed cushions ranging from dinosaurs to floral designs and raised one thousand pounds.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

My leisure interests include Huddersfield Town F.C. a passion of mine having followed them from a young age, through lots of highs and lows. I also play football my aim next year is to join the University team and train with them on a weekly basis which a believe I can manage alongside my studies. My other passion is gaming as this enables me to compete with my friends and other people over the internet, it has also allowed me to stay connected with friends and it is a good method of interacting and making new friends online. Gaming is a competitive, but I also find it relaxing at times.
