  • Planned and executed successful mine warfare operations throughout the Middle East, including Oman and Bahrain.
  • Prepared duty watch rotas for the department on the ship.
  • I have acted as a Quartermaster whilst alongside home and foreign ports to challenge and identify individuals coming aboard the ship.
  • Prepared and carried out routine inspections of vital life saving equipment on board.
  • To conduct mine warfare operations using sonar to identify and dispose of possible mines that pose threats to the ship or to other ships.
  • Acted as part of the response force on ship. This involved reacting to ships within the Middle East who may have posed a threat by dressing in body armour and proceeding outside onto a weapon to protect the ship and the lives of people on board.
  • To dispose of mines by launching and driving a remote controlled operating vehicle.
  • Cbrndc runner (chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear damage control). Completing daily checks of all fire fighting equipment, co2 extinguishers, afff extinguishers. Checking the ships companies respirator (gas mask). Checking the damage control bags for all the necessary tools incase the ship came under a flooding emergency. Checking the eebd's (emergency escape breathing device) to make sure they are working and functioning properly.
  • Carrying out daily checks on the ships edbas (emergency device breathing apparatus) making sure the mask on each of the edba's is working and not leaking oxygen. Insuring there is enough pressure and oxygen incase of a fire on board.
  • Supervising seafox (remote controlled operating vehicle) deployments and recoveries to investigate suspected mines.
  • Conducted fire fighting exercises with the ships company, practicing re-entry skills and various fire fighting techniques and exercises.
