I believe the best teaching develops the whole child. Building confidence, resilience and character alongside academic progress. My practice is rooted in strong relationships, creating a classroom where children feel safe, valued and ready to learn, whatever their starting points.
I focus on removing barriers to learning and ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum, including supporting EAL learners, adapting explanations and tasks, and encouraging independence and confidence in their thinking.
After beginning my ECT journey, I took a career break from teaching during which I worked as a Senior Risk and Safer Gambling Advisor. This strengthened my safeguarding expertise, judgement and ability to handle complex situations with calmness and care.
I am now returning to primary education to continue my ECT journey, bringing a broader perspective, a reflective and consistent approach, and a strong commitment to helping every child succeed academically and personally.
This role sits between operational advisors and formal management, focused on developing leadership, decision-making, and people-development skills.
I work within a senior team of eight supporting approximately eighty advisors handling customer interactions and risk-related processes. A key part of my role is coaching colleagues to perform confidently and effectively, in line with organisational standards.
This includes providing regular feedback, guidance, and support to improve performance, develop practice, and maintain consistent quality. I contribute to a positive, structured environment through clear communication, modelling expectations, and supporting professional growth.
The role requires strong safeguarding awareness, sound judgement, and the ability to support others through complex or sensitive situations. It has strengthened my coaching, communication and relationship-building skills, which transfer directly to supporting pupils, colleagues, and wider school communities in a primary education setting.
