I have over 26 years’ experience working with Survitec in the manufacture of safety-critical survival equipment. During that time I have worked across several areas of production including press cutting, screen printing, and specialist assembly roles as both a lead aviation solutionist and marine solutionist. I also served as lead training operative within the aviation department, supporting the training of staff and helping maintain high production standards. My work has been carried out in environments requiring strict quality control and MOD audit compliance, and my long service reflects my reliability, adaptability, and consistent attention to detail.
Lead Aviation Solutionist
Currently working as Lead Solutionist in the aviation department, responsible for the assembly of aviation survival equipment to strict quality and compliance standards. During my time in the role I have built every liferaft variant produced by the company and am currently involved in the prototype development of a new range of MOD liferafts. I also play a key role in developing the team, having trained all current build operatives within the department while helping maintain consistent production, quality, and safety standards.
Marine Solutionist
Worked in the marine department building large-capacity liferafts used on cruise ships and other commercial vessels. The role included assembling complex survival systems such as large liferafts and 32-metre evacuation slides designed for emergency deployment. All work was carried out to strict safety and quality standards and included a detailed final inspection process before equipment was approved for service.
Press Cut Operator — Pre-Select Department
Operated two hydraulic press cutting machines producing subcomponents for the lifejacket and welding departments. Working at the start of the production line, I was responsible for accurately cutting materials to specification and supplying multiple departments with the components required to keep production running efficiently. The role required strong organisation, consistent accuracy, and the ability to manage a high workload while maintaining quality standards.
Screen Print Operator — Pre-Select Department
Responsible for screen printing identification and compliance markings used across the factory, including serial numbers, capacity information, and manufacturing dates. The role was critical to the production line, supplying multiple departments with correctly marked components required for traceability and compliance. This required careful setup, accuracy, and consistency to ensure all prints were clear, durable, and met product specifications before entering assembly.
