I have worked with horses my whole life, but sold my own due to exams so I have been working in corporate roles for a few years now.
Im desperate to get back into doing what I love.
I am always up for a challenge, and don't mind either a fresh horse or a happy hacker.
Im ready to bring my years of skills and love for horses to a new environment and always ready to learn more.
In my role as a financial administrator, I have been responsible for checking vendor statements and ensuring they match our system, reconciling payments, liaising with customers regarding payment plans and managing the finance inbox.
Day to day queries that come in the inbox are other departments requesting changes or financial amendments on bookings, checking payment has been received from agents to despatch tickets, paying vendors to confirm bookings and many more.
In my position as Service Controller, I manage a large group of technicians who work in different areas of Greater London.
Day to day tasks include running productivity and state of service reports, dealing with large key accounts and ensuring service is running smoothly, liaising with the bookings team to provide efficient dates for reactive works, managing sub contractors, diary management and answering incoming calls from new enquiries and clients.
Being in this role has helped me gain knowledge in business development and maximising customer relationships, as well as problem solving in such a reactive role.
I was introduced to JPL in 2015 after selling my own horses.
JPL was made of a team of young riders wanting to pursue a career in racing.
We competed all year round across the country, at courses such as Epsom and Gatcombe and large events, working towards qualifying for the Royal International Horse Show in London.
I competed at Olympia in December of 2015 with my team and placed first.
Being a part of this team also included maintenance of the yard at home, as well as having full responsibility of the horses when transporting them, and ensuring their stables at multiple day events such as HOYS were kept up to standard and the horses were comfortable.
After 2 incredible years, JPL took on new jockeys, to be able to give the same opportunities to young riders across the country.
I was a part of a group called Kellies ponies from a very young age.
As a team of young girls, we brought on ponies and horses from breaking them to competing in many different levels of competitions, such as show jumping and showing.
I broke a 4 year old gelding, and later went on to buy him as my own, developing his skills in jumping and cross country, to eventually outgrowing him and selling him on.
Day to day tasks would include full care of the horses that were stabled on our yard. This included mucking out, field maintenance, schooling, hacking, grooming, plaiting, preparing for shows and any other jobs needed.
Working at Kellies ponies has had a big impact on the rider I am today.
The welfare of horses and the environment they live in has always been my main priority, and I am extremely grateful for the pathways this experience has opened up for me.
