Within BCM, I am a casual support worker for the young people that reside there. My role involves supporting the young people with any needs or support they require, this may include applying for jobs, completing household tasks, it may also be providing support with their mental or emotional health. This role is very rewarding and allows me to grow my experience while at university completing my Social Work degree.
Within my time at Sperrin view, I worked with children with disabilities, including Autism and Down Syndrome, to name a few. Each individual had their own set of needs and it was important that I worked closely with the school team to ensure these needs were being met. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Sperrin view. It allowed me to grow my knowledge base, while also expanding on my skill level.
