My role at Eurospar Wallace Village has allowed me to develop a wide range of skills that will enable me to adapt and thrive in the workplace. These skills have been developed through the following roles:

  • Lead the gap check team, conducting regular stock checks ensuring product availability for clients at all times. This also included deploying loss prevention methods and investigating theft.
  • Developed rapport with customers for improved loyalty and repeat business.
  • Handled returns and exchanges diligently minimising dissatisfaction amongst clientele.
  • Collaborated closely with colleagues to resolve complex customer issues swiftly.
  • Ensured smooth store operations by coordinating with the team effectively.

  • Hurling - Through playing hurling I have developed many skills such as discipline, teamwork, communication and commitment.
  • Gym work - Consistently following a programme and diet regime to achieve goals relating to strength and fitness, displaying discipline and attention to detail.
  • Fundraising - Involved in the club fundraising committee which organized a sponsored walk in the Mourne mountains, helping raise over £10,000 for pitch development.
  • Car detailing - Car detailing has strengthened my attention to detail and commitment to high standards, and a keen eye for even the smallest imperfections.

Accomplishments

In 2019 I was awarded the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship which recognised me as a bright, future engineer. To achieve this I had to complete 4 stages which included an initial application, an aptitude test, a design-based problem solving task and the final day interview. I was also sponsored by a top firm for 2 years which aided my studies both academically and financially.
