During my time with Ashtead I have been an integral part of the team working with HPU's, umbilical reels, compressors, generators and high-pressured pumps.

I have experience in the following

• Carrying out repairs to ensure machine longevity.
• Making necessary modifications to equipment to improve efficiency using fabricating & welding techniques.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance for increased equipment lifespan.
• Carrying out function tests and shutdowns on various equipment. I also liaised with 3rd party inspectors such as DNV.
• Diagnosed malfunctions to promptly restore service. This occurred throughout routine maintenance on equipment.
• Conducted equipment overhauls to improve performance levels.
• Setting up flows and pressures on pressure compensated diesel and electric HPU's
• Assemble umbilicals and pressure test to the required working pressure
• Supporting a strong HSE culture

• Ensuring marine life-saving appliances (LSA) are maintained to a high safety standard, and conform to SOLAS (Safety of Lives at Sea) regulations.
• Strong focus on boats, predominantly fast rescue crafts, carrying out 1-year and 5-yearly surveys, including static/dynamic load tests, preventative maintenance on boats' engines, stern drives, and/or jet-driven crafts.
• Gel coat, fibreglass, and inflatable repairs, Henriksen Hook inspection and recertification, and more.
• Designing and fabricated new boat components for improved efficiency and performance.
• Carrying out electrical diagnostics and installations on the crafts primary equipment.
• Solving complex mechanical problems, enhancing ship operational standards.
• Training junior engineers, promoting a culture of safe and continuous learning within the team.

• Serviced & maintained vehicles, carry out diagnostics and repairs.
• Ensured every car left the garage in a safe and legal manner.
• Working within the dealership helped me gain confidence working on newer vehicles, learning the full process of the vehicle entering the workshop, being diagnosed and repaired until the keys are handed back to the customer.
• Gained specialist knowledge on car manufactures such as Hyundai, Jeep, Fiat and Vauxhall.
• Obtained my level 3 training in hybrid and electric vehicles, allowing me to safely discharge a high voltage electrical system and to remove and refit the components of the high voltage electrical system on a hybrid or fully electric vehicle.

• Gained experience with 4x4s and learned about other vehicle manufactures.
• I also learned how to change a clutch and flywheel for the first time.
• improved customer care, by keeping in regular contact, providing updates on the progress on the vehicle, advising on potential further repairs or if there were to be any delays.

• Service preparation for customers ensuring vehicles were mechanically and cosmetically sound guaranteeing customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for changing tyres safely and correctly and replace timing belts.

• Travelling around the North/North East of Scotland to carry out service & maintenance, diagnostics, recalls and repair work on various client vehicles.
