Work History

Foster carer

FosteringUK
, Devon
01.2026 - Current

As a foster carer, I have provided a safe, stable and nurturing home for children and young people with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and complex needs. I have cared for both long-term and short-term placements, supporting children who have experienced trauma, neglect, abuse and other adverse childhood experiences. By developing positive, trusting relationships, I have helped children build confidence, improve their emotional wellbeing and develop resilience. I have worked collaboratively with social workers, schools, CAMHS, health professionals and birth families to achieve the best possible outcomes for each child. My role has included attending Looked After Child Reviews, PEP meetings, permanence meetings, EHCP meeting, as well as completing detailed reports, maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning and risk assessments. I have consistently advocated for children’s education, health, emotional wellbeing and independence while maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection. Throughout my fostering career, I have also completed extensive mandatory training and ongoing professional development to ensure I continue to provide the highest standard of care.
