Summary

Motivated Senior Radiographer with extensive experience in MRI, a large part of which were Cardiac scans, for 17 years. I have strong clinical and people skills and I am acutely aware of how to provide quality MRI and imaging service for patients and referring clinicians. For the last 6 years I have also been scanning in CT and am always eager to learn new skills and modalities. Expert knowledge from years of scanning have developed me into an excellent problem solver and my experience makes me a confident communicator to all service users and teams.

Senior MRI/CT Radiographer

Trained to use GE Voyager 1.5 MRI and GE 64 slice CT scanner.

  • Responsible for efficient and safe running of MRI and CT lists for patients from all sorts of referral backgrounds.
  • Puts patient experience as highest priority during an examination and strives to maintain privacy and dignity at all times.
  • Able to attend, post process and follow appropriate pathways to ensure that patients images are dealt with according to protocol.
  • Has Society of Radiographers recognised cannulation certificate.
  • Understands and implements all associated IR(ME)R responsibilities.
  • Scan a wide range of MRI imaging from professional sports MSK to neuro work.
  • Set up and took ownership of new Cardiac MRI service for the hospital, liaising with Cardiologists, Radiologists and providing high quality "gold standard", dedicated cardiac imaging.

I stepped down from this role after having children as I did not feel I could realistically meets its demands as a new Mum.

  • Liaised closely with Radiologists to optimise scans and MRI procedures. This ensured that we had best quality diagnostic scans and appropriately followed clinical guidelines.
  • Set up unit based quality control procedures and maintained documents such as risk assessments and QA.
  • Was integral in setting up new "Pacemaker pathway" for scanning patients with pacemakers at our unit collaboratively with the trust pacing clinic and Cardiologists.

I was promoted from this post to above role.
