  • RPS Duties include:
  • 1. Ensuring PPE is available, safe to use and suitable for staff (badges are done by general Xray, CT ensure that we have lead gowns and that they are tested annually for damage)
  • 2. Having an awareness of pregnant staff as different dose badges and limits apply.
  • 3. Following up on any staff who have received an over exposure or who are exceeding dose limits and may require monitoring
  • 4. Liaise with the RPA in the event of over exposure of a patient – if it’s a patient that has been overexposed it could potentially be reportable to CQC, so a dose report needs to be done
  • 5. Ensuring all staff in department comply with the local rules (that should be displayed in the controlled area) for that piece of kit and ensuring the local rules are updated as and when.
